Entre os dias 27 e 29 de novembro passado, realizaram-se no Auditório da Faculdade as “V Jornadas de Lisboa de Direito Marítimo”, destinadas a comemorar os cem anos da Convenção de Bruxelas de 1924 sobre transporte marítimo de mercadorias sob conhecimento de carga (Regras da Haia) a que Portugal está internacionalmente vinculado desde 1931.
O Congresso reuniu grande número de especialistas portugueses e estrangeiros e suscitou largo interesse e participação, quer de juristas (académicos, magistrados e advogados) quer de profissionais dos setores marítimo e portuário.
No final do segundo dia do Congresso, a Faculdade, através do seu Diretor, Prof. Doutor Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, prestou homenagem ao Prof. Doutor Ignacio Arroyo Martínez, um dos nomes maiores, a nível mundial, do Direito Marítimo do último quartel do século XX e primeiras duas décadas do século XXI.
Através do Centro de Direito Marítimo e dos Transportes e sob a coordenação do Prof. Doutor M. Januário da Costa Gomes, será promovida a publicação das Atas do Congresso, tal como ocorreu nas anteriores Jornadas de Lisboa de Direito Marítimo.

Between 27 and 29 November 2024, the V Lisbon Maritime Law Conference has taken place in the auditorium of the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon, in commemoration of the centenary of the Brussels Convention of 1924 on carriage of goods by sea under bill of lading (Hague Rules) to which Portugal is internationally bound since 1931.
The Conference has gathered a large number of national and international specialists and raised large interest and participation, among legal experts (academics, magistrates and lawyers) and among professionals of the port and maritime sectors.
At the end of the second day of the Conference, the Director of the Law Faculty, Prof. Dr. Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, has rendered formal homage to Prof. Dr. Ignacio Arroyo Martínez, one of the worldwide most important experts on Maritime Law of the last quarter of the 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st century.
Through the Center of Maritime and Transport Law and under the coordination of Prof. Dr. M. Januário da Costa Gomes, the publication of the texts corresponding to the communications made in the Conference shall be promoted, as it has occurred in the previous editions of the Lisbon Maritime Law Conferences.
