c) Holders of a Portuguese secondary school diploma or legally equivalent qualification, as defined by Ministerial Order no. 224/2006, of 8th March, and Ministerial Order no. 699/2006, of 12th July.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have an academic qualification in the areas of knowledge required for the cycle of studies they are applying for. This requirement is demonstrated as follows:

a) Applicants holding a Portuguese secondary education qualification: passing the entrance exams defined for that study cycle in the year of entry (Portuguese and Philosophy or Portuguese and History). These entrance exams must have been taken in the calendar year or three preceding the year of application;

b) Applicants who have completed a secondary/middle school course in which the provisions of article 20-A of Decree-Law no. 296-A/98 of 25th September apply: approval based on the homology of the tests defined in the previous paragraph. Candidates may also pass the entrance exams defined for the study cycle in the year of entry;

c) Candidates who hold a qualification which, in the country in which it was obtained, entitles them to apply for and enter higher education in that country and for which the provisions of the previous points do not apply: pass, in their schooling, the curricular components that make up the knowledge covered by the entrance exams (Portuguese and Philosophy or Portuguese and History).

d) Candidates must also have the level of knowledge of the Portuguese language required to attend this cycle of studies. Attending a law degree programme therefore requires an independent command of the Portuguese language (B1 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
