- Failure to complete the assessment gives the participant a certificate of participation, which must be requested from the Erasmus and International Relations Office via e-mail.
- If the assessment is completed and passed, the external participant will receive a certificate of completion with the ECTS and grade obtained, which must be requested from the Erasmus and International Relations Office by e-mail. FDUL students will have their grade indicated in the virtual secretary’s office.
Assessment and approval give FDUL students the possibility of substituting an optional course in their bachelor’s degree or professional master’s degree, once they have obtained the necessary ECTS.
Assessment can be by written exam or assignment. The terms of the assessment (date, duration, examination materials; date, topic, number of pages of work, etc.) are defined by the course lecturer.
Work must be submitted in accordance with the following requirements:
- Unless otherwise stated, the work must be sent by e-mail to the lecturer, with GERI being informed;
- The work must be sent in PDF format, with the name of the intensive course and student number indicated in the subject line. After sending the work by e-mail, the participant must leave a signed “Declaration of Honour” at GERI;
- The same “Declaration of Honour” must appear at the end of the work, as follows: “I declare on my honour that this work was done independently, without external help and without having used any other bibliographic source, other than the one specifically referred to in the text”.
The completion of two or three intensive courses allows for the replacement of an Optional Curricular Unit of the Bachelor’s Degree in Law and the Master’s Degree in Law and Legal Practice, respectively.
The substitution of an Optional Curricular Unit obeys the following rules:
- You may only request the replacement of an optional course whose grade has not yet been posted and in which you are enrolled:
– To avoid the grade being posted, we suggest that you place the optional course in Method B when you enrol at the beginning of the semester; - It is not permitted to request the replacement of an elective course for which you have taken an exam and failed;
- You can request the replacement of an elective course with intensive courses taken in previous years;
- They can only request the substitution of an elective course after the marks for the intensive courses have been released and each course can only be used once for substitution purposes;
- In the case of MDPJ students, 3 intensive courses (9 ECTS) are required to request substitution.
The courses are face-to-face and attendance is monitored by calling participants at the beginning and end of each class. Failure to answer one of these calls is considered absent.
Absences from intensive courses are not permitted, except in exceptional and duly justified cases. Only one excused absence is allowed, which must be sent by email.
Failure to submit a declaration of honour, lack of attendance and payment will result in the final grade not being published and will affect the issue of the corresponding certificate. In addition, in the event of plagiarism, the participant’s admission to future intensive courses will be subject to review by GERI.
FDUL students will be able to consult the classifications of the intensive courses at the virtual secretariat. All other participants will receive their marks by e-mail. When an optional subject is replaced by an intensive course, students’ certificates will only show the optional subjects, with the average of the grades and the number of ECTS obtained in the intensive courses.
It is not possible to request a review of grades.
Participants can request two types of certificate from GERI:
- Certificate of participation which only certifies attendance at the intensive course;
- Certificate of completion with grade and ECTS credits.
FDUL students who attend and pass the intensive courses do not need to request a certificate. Grades and reference to the course will be included in the diploma supplement.
A certificate of attendance can be requested by FDUL students who choose not to take an assessment.
The issuing of the certificate is subject to compliance with the attendance and assessment rules and payment for the course.
The cancellation of an intensive course by GERI implies a change of enrolment for the FDUL students affected, who may instead enrol on any other intensive course where there are vacancies or request a refund.
